On 17 September 2024, the Telemedicine Education Advancement through Micro-credentials (TEAM) project reached an important milestone during a transnational meeting in Brussels. Hosted by the Institut de Haute Formation aux Politiques Communautaires (IHF), the gathering brought together partners from Belgium, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia, Greece, and Ukraine to evaluate the project’s progress as it approaches the end of its first year. The consortium concentrated on two main aspects of the project during this meeting:
Completion of WP2 – Telemedicine Education and Industry Partnership Mapping
The partners reviewed the results from Work Package 2 (WP2), which led to the creation of the Executive Summary on Telemedicine Education and Industry Partnership Mapping. This report offered crucial insights into the current landscape of telemedicine education, revealing skill and infrastructure gaps across the partner countries. Discussions focused on how these insights would shape the project’s future stages.
Transition to WP3 – Development of Training Materials
The meeting represented a significant turning point as the project transitioned from WP2 to Work Package 3 (WP3), with a focus on the development of the TEAM project’s training materials. These resources will serve as the foundation of innovative learning pathways designed to enhance digital health and telemedicine education. The consortium discussed the content, structure, and methodology of the training materials, ensuring they align with the findings from WP2 and adhere to global best practices in digital health education.
Looking ahead, the partners are dedicated to testing and validating the training materials through the project’s digital learning platform. This platform will serve as an essential tool for healthcare and IT students, as well as professionals, helping them acquire critical telemedicine skills, particularly in regions facing pressing healthcare challenges.
As the project nears the conclusion of its first year, this meeting emphasized the progress made and set the stage for the successful development and dissemination of telemedicine training resources. The consortium expressed confidence in the upcoming phase and reaffirmed their commitment to driving innovation in digital health education across Europe.
